Field Trip
The samples taken by both the Cherryville (CRM) and the Shuswap-Lumby (MSL) groups, came from water which was almost 20℃ in the streams. Ice packs overnight were not adequate to cool them quickly to below 8℃, in order to prevent bacteria from multiplying in the bottles before they arrived for analysis (the next day). They should have been put into a freezer immediately; as it was they arrived in Kelowna at 16℃ for MSL and 22℃ for CRM. Therefore coliform results have not been posted for these 2 field trips of samples, although they are available in the Results files.
Water low everywhere; clear, hot, dry weather.
