At the end of a particularly wet summer, the weather has been hot & dry with very little wind. Today is cloudless and up to 35˚C.

Blue Springs creek is dry at Bear Valley gate, and not flowing at its mouth although there was enough water in pools to sample there. At Gibson Rd and Blue Springs Rd there was water flowing but a deadline (at the Lumby Village Workshop) prevented accessing and sampling.

Overnight snow, light, melting

Hot & clear for past week. We had hoped to add an immediately upstream site to narrow the possibilities of source on May 22, but farmer not available. 

Brooklyn Lavallee took pictures and recorded Oakton pH readings.

Samples arrived too late for bacteriology & bottle (Nutrients COD) was wrong for Nitrate; it should have been General.

No preceding 24-hr precipitation; strong winds previous afternoon.

Our first outing of 2025.

To keep cost down, we decided to test only for nutrients, particularly nitrate. However, it was a first picture so we included general parameters like pH, TDS, and EC.
