A field trip's results from the lab (PDF, XLS etc.) are grouped by sampling site. However the data stored in this database can be extracted in various useful groupings and sequences.
Most extractions default to the analyte E. Coli. This can always be overridden by a pattern (like "ate" for Nitrate and Phosphate) or a specific analyte name (like "Chloride"), or the filter can be left blank to display all the analytes with results for the entity (waterbody, site, or field trip) being displayed.
Graphs are not provided as a direct output from this database. By and large they would be uninformative:
- all sites have been very infrequently sampled, rarely more than 3 times per year
- samples have been taken in various seasons, in widely differing temperatures & weather
- any of the data can be exported to spreadsheets so that graphing can occur offline as desired
Calculations, such as average or geometric mean, are not provided as a direct output from this database. The analyte values are alphanumeric because they contain symbols like "<". Any of the data can be exported to spreadsheets so that calculation can occur offline as desired.
