Every Water Sample record must refer to the Sampling Site on the Waterbody at which it was taken. To create a Sampling Site on this database:
Log in to the web site; using the Admin Menu, choose Content > Add content > Sampling Site
- Name
Enter text which identifies the site within its Waterbody. Waterbody is a field within the Sampling Site record, so does not need specifying here in the name of the site. - Water Body
Select the body from the drop-down choices (the name will show the Waterbody Type, but not include it in the Sampling Site record). - Site ID
Enter a 2-digit number identifying the site on its watercourse; this number is appended to the Waterbody ID by the system to form a complete site identification code; use 20+ near the source, 10-19 for mid-stream, 0-9 near the mouth. - Geofield
Enter the latitude and longitude in WKT (well known text) format. - Details
Specify sampling location details such as which side of a watercourse and position upstream or downstream of a landmark to make finding the position easy for a newcomer. - Location
Upload an image to illustrate the site within it surroundings.
