Individual postings of results can be modified by editing them:
- login to the web site
- from the Navigation Menu select Field Trips
- Scroll to & select the applicable Field Trip (Date - Sampling Group combination) to display a list of the field trip Samples
- for the applicable water sample select 'Analytes'
- The analyte records can be individually edited
Automating the modification of posted results requires
- login to the web site
- a file in .csv format with column headings (not necessarily in this order):

- entity_type: always "node"
- entity_id: the Content ID of the Water Sample tested for the analyte
- from the Navigation Menu choose Field Trips
- select the appropriate Field Trip (Date - Sampling Group combination)
- all the samples (sites) of the field trip are listed, with their Content IDs
- uuid: the UUID of the Analyte webform submission to be modified
- analyte_name, analyte_value, analyte_unit & analyte_source: corrected version
To create the .csv file:
- login to the web site
- from the Navigation Menu choose Export > Analytes
- impose appropriate filters to limit output to only those postings requiring update
- select the top check box in the column of check boxes at left (= select all)
- select "Export to CSV"
- download the resultant file by selecting 'Click here' in "Export file created, Click here to download" at top of page
- modify the resultant .csv file to allow easy mapping to the database fields
To import the .csv file:
- using the Admin Menu choose Structure > Webforms > Forms
- select the Analyte form
- from the Tabs on the form select "Results"
- from the submenu select "Upload"
- "Browse" and upload the Submission CSV file, and select "Continue"
- Carefully examine the Review mapping to be sure all above fields are represented
- Check "Treat all warnings as errors" and "Yes, I want to import these submissions", then "Import"
- Carefully examine the resulting message concerning the number of transactions processed, and particularly whether any were skipped (none will have been created, unless a UUID was not matched (see Analyte File Import).
The accepted format for reporting results from samples sent to a laboratory like CARO Analytical Services is Portable Document Format developed by Adobe, known as PDF. This provides only a difficult method of uploading a batch of results to this web site, so in most cases other derivative sources from CARO are used.
